Ay 7:30 a.m., the Ocean Beach Fire Company responded to a structure fire on East Pelican Way after a neighbor observed smoke and found a fire in the back of the home near an electrical meter panel, the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention said. Crews initiated suppression operations as firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent extension beyond the structure, firefighters said.
