Three people were hospitalized, including a driver who police claimed smelled like alcohol, after a crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. Wall Township police responded to the crash at around 5:31 p.m. on Friday, July 5, the department said in a news release on Monday, July 8. A Wawa is opening in Monmouth County and the convenience store chain will celebrate its 60th anniversary along with the new location, officials said. The new Wawa will be open at 3052 Route 35 in Hazlet on Thursday, June 27, the company said in a news release. NJ Transit, Amtrak Service Resumes After Power Outage, Brush Fire
Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said.
