FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Back In Philly 26 Years After 5-Year-Old Girl's Rape, Murder: PPD
A former FBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive accused of kidnapping, raping, and killing 5-year-old Iriana DeJesus more than 26 years ago has been returned to Pennsylvania to face charges, authorities announced on Monday, Aug. 31.
Alexis Flores, who spent more than 25 years as a fugitive, was captured in Lepaera, Honduras, on Feb. 11 by the FBI's Transnational Anti-Gang Task Force and Honduran authorities, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Following an international extradition process, the FBI transported him back to Philadelphia.

Bird Rescued From Drain Pipe In Middle Twp
A bird was rescued from a drain pipe in Middletown Township on Saturday, Aug. 29, authorities said.
At 5:35 p.m., firefighters responded after a bird was discovered struck in a drainage culvert, Green Creek Fire Company said. The bird had been sucked from a creek, into a drain pipe, and into the culvert, firefighters said.
Firefighters removed the top grate and utilized a fishing net to remove the cormorant, fire officials said. The bird was tired, though able to walk off on its own, firefighters said.
114K Car Seats Recalled Over Injury Risks For Infants
More than 114,000 infant car seats are being recalled because their carrying handles can partially detach, increasing the risk that a child could fall and be injured.
Britax Child Safety issued the recall for 114,660 B-Safe infant car seats, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report submitted on Thursday, Aug. 20. The recall covers several models, including B-Safe Gen 2, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit Plus, B-Safe 35, B-Safe Ultra, and Endeavours.
