Cherry Hill Man Who Planned PA Book Warehouse Arson Convicted, Feds Say

A New Jersey man was found guilty of plotting to burn down an eastern Pennsylvania warehouse, causing a fire that injured a firefighter, authorities said.

Ramiz Duka of Cherry Hill, NJ, was convicted on Wednesday, Oct. 30 of conspiracy to commit arson, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Jacqueline Romero said in a news release.

According to trial evidence, Duka recruited two men to set fire to the warehouse for Ebooksweb.com LLC on Bridgewater Road in Bensalem, PA. The three men met over the several weeks to plan the arson and Duka paid the two $15,000 for the job.

One man set the warehouse on fire on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022. A firefighter was seriously injured when a 20-foot ladder collapsed and the fire caused nearly $6 million in damage.

Duka, 61, was facing between five and 20 years in prison.
