Fallen Telephone Pole, Low Wires Close Busy Road In Northern Westchester A fallen telephone pole is causing authorities to divert traffic from a busy main road in Northern Westchester.  South Bedford Road (Route 172) in Mount Kisco was closed to traffic on Tuesday, May 16 because of low-hanging power lines caused by the fallen pole, Westchester County Police announced around 4 p.m.  The pole fell in the area of the Northern Westchester Professional Park located at 103-105 South Bedford Road.  Detours have been put into place for commuters. Route 6 Reopens After Head-On Crash Near Yorktown Border Click here for an updated story: Three Injured In Route 6 Head-On Crash Involving Car, SUV, Box Truck A stretch of Route 6 near the Northern Westchester/Putnam border has reopened Friday morning following a head-on crash with multiple injuries reported. The closure was between Mahopac Avenue in Somers and Windsor Road in Yorktown following the 7:20 a.m. crash. Eastbound traffic was diverted to Route 6N, westbound traffic used Mahopac Avenue to Route 202/35 during the closure of about an hour-and-a-half. This continues to be a developing story.
