Sister Joan Crevcoure, M.M. died on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Maryknoll Sisters Center in Maryknoll. She was 93 years old and had been a Maryknoll Sister for 73 years.
Joan Crevcoure was born in Green Bay, WI on Oct. 12, 1926 to May B. (Fortier) Crevcoure and J. M. Crevcoure. She had one brother and one sister, both of whom have predeceased her.

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, and a near record-breaking number of Americans are expected to hit the road to kick it off this year, according to AAA.
Nearly 43 million Americans are expected to mark the unofficial start of summer on a high note with a Memorial Day weekend jaunt, making it the second most traveled since AAA began tracking travelers in 2000, only behind 2005.
In total, an additional 1.5 million more people are expected to travel this year on roads, rails, and runways, AAA announced, a 3.6 percent increase from last year’s holiday.

Sister Joan Toomey died on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Maryknoll Sisters Center in Maryknoll. She was 84 years old and had been a Maryknoll Sister for 66 years.
She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on Jan. 18, 1934 to Hazel (Warner) Toomey and Joseph J. Toomey. She had one sister, Elaine. Both parents and her sister have predeceased her.
In 1952, Joan graduated from Dominican High School in New Orleans. She entered the Maryknoll Sisters Novitiate at the Maryknoll Sisters Center on Sept. 2, 1952, from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in New Orleans.
