The two arrests were announced on Wednesday, March 20 by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, which conducted an increased drunk driving enforcement detail over Saint Patrick's Day weekend. Driver Rescued After Rollover Crash In Carmel During Storm Amid a wintry Nor'easter, first responders were tasked with rescuing a driver who became trapped in their vehicle as the result of a rollover at a Hudson Valley intersection.  The rollover happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Jan. 7 around 7:30 a.m., when a vehicle overturned on its side in Carmel at the intersection of Hill and Dale Road (Route 44) and Fair Street (Route 60), according to the Carmel Fire Department.  Arriving first responders soon found that the driver was trapped inside the vehicle and worked to extricate them. Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit on patrol on Fair Street in Carmel on Thursday, Jan. 9, stopped a motorist near George Fischer Middle School.
