'Just A Wonderful Person': Popular Sportscaster From Northern Westchester Dies A beloved sports radio host from Northern Westchester who made numerous appearances on national television and enjoyed a successful career in book publishing is being remembered for his sharp nature and dedication to fulfilling his dreams.  Sportscaster, author, editor, and Armonk resident Rick Wolff died on Monday, April 10 at age 71 after a brief battle with brain cancer, his family announced on his blog.  Wolff was known for hosting his popular weekly radio show "The Sports Edge," which aired on New York City-based WFAN Sports Radio and often focused on youth sports. …

Charles S. Vollers, 79, Yorktown High School Graduate, Had Long Career In The Glass Industry Charles S. Vollers was born in the Bronx on April 17, 1941 and died on June 24 in Lansing, MI, following surgical complications.  He was raised in Yorktown Heights, where his first jobs were behind the counter at the local pharmacy and at the Sparkle Lake Tea Room. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1958 and attended Alfred University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ceramic Engineering.
