Kennedy Cousin Michael Skakel Will Not Be Retried For Martha Moxley Murder
Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel will not be retired for the death of Martha Moxley in the Belle Haven section of Greenwich in 1975. In a stunning announcement, Connecticut Chief State’s attorney Richard Colangelo said on Friday, Oct. 30, that he would not retry Skakel because he could not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. While speaking before Stamford Superior Court Judge Gary White, Colangelo said a recent review of the case showed that of the 51 potential witnesses, 17 had died. He also said he had reviewed all the evidence and could find nothing new to use in a trial. N…

Thursday’s ruling by the Supreme Court will permit the victims’ relatives to go to trial, which could force the gun companies to s…

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously this week in favor of the Hartford Courant, who previously attempted to have the items made public, though that decision was overruled by a lower court judge. It has not been disclosed when the 35 items will be released. Connecticut State Police investigators had previously rejected media requests to view Lanza’s belongings that were seized following the shooting, citing privacy…

Kennedy Cousin Skakel's Conviction Overturned By Connecticut Supreme Court
in a stunning reversal of its own decision less than two years ago, the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled on Friday to overturn the conviction of Michael Skakel, who was found guilty of bludgeoning Greenwich neighbor Martha Moxley in 1975. Skakel, the nephew of Ethel Kennedy, wife of the late Robert F. Kennedy, had been convicted in 2002 of killing the 15-year-old Moxley, who was beaten to death with a golf club. Skakel successfully appealed his conviction in October 2013 and was released on bail the next month as he awaited a new trial. Three years later, the state Supreme Court revers…
