Yorktown Boasts Four Champions in Kohl Tournament

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Yorktown had four champions and seven wrestlers place in the top three Sunday in the Kohl Wrestling Tournament at Suffern High School.

This was the Cornhuskers first appearance in the Kohl and they finished fourth behind Monroe-Woodbury, Suffern and Somers, respectively.

Joe Mastro (145 pounds), Steven Sabella (170), Thomas Murray (182) and David Varian (285) won titles. Varian highlighted the day with a victory over undefeated Sean Barry of Hen Hud in overtime of the final.

Sabella added the Kohl championship to the Scarsdale Tournament title he won earlier this month. Jimmy Kaishian (120), Kyle Santucci (132) and Mike Karl (195) all finished third.
