To be successful, Banks told the students, an airbrush artist must perform his task properly, consistently and accurately. “If it is not accurate, there’s no point in doing it at all.” Once a student masters the airbrush skill, Banks said airbrush painting can be a lucrative side business, noting that almost any surface can be airbrushed.
Tommy Banks, from Ohio Technical College in Cleveland, demonstrated his craft, and taught students how to use airbrush pens. After the students completed some basic exercises, Banks had the students compete to who could paint the best version of skull, with the winner receiving a custom-painted t-shirt. The winner was Anthony Tetto of Mahopac High School.
Michael Law, an admissions representative from Ohio Technical College, said he has been visiting the Tech Center for 25 years and draws his best students from here. He mentioned Christina Zito, a recent graduate of the Tech Center and Brewster High School.
