Yorktown Resident Charged With Possessing Crack After Traffic Stop

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A 27-year-old Yorktown man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police discovered he was carrying crack during a traffic stop on Friday, Oct. 14, according to Yorktown police.

Michel Cruz was stopped by Yorktown police for a traffic violation on Suncrest Avenue when officers discovered he was in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana. He was also driving on a suspended license. 

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, driving without a license and driving with tinted windows.

He was processed and released on $500 cash bail. Cruz is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17.
