An officer responded to a report of a vehicle being driven in the rear yard of a residence on Manchester Road on Thursday, March 3, about 9:12 p.m., according to police.
When the officer arrived, he located a black Mercedes-Benz being operated on the lawn of the residence, police report.
An investigation at the scene revealed that the operator of the vehicle, identified as Veska H. Lieto, was allegedly driving while intoxicated, officials report.
Lieto was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown police headquarters, according to police.
She was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, both unclassified misdemeanors, as well as passing a stop sign and driving at an unreasonable rate of speed, both traffic infractions, officials report.
Lieto was processed and released on her own recognizance; she is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, according to police.
