Dominic Esposito, 92, Of Mohegan Lake

MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. — Dominic Esposito, of Mohegan Lake, died March 23. He was 92.

Esposito was born March 19, 1923 in the Bronx to Dominick and Mary Esposito, serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and marrying Frances Maliaros on May 11, 1946.

He was a member of the New York City Police Department, receiving the Mayor's Trophy Award and retiring in 1971.

Esposito was a past commander of the New York State Combat Infantry Men's Association, an active member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV and an active volunteer at the Montrose VA.

He is survived by three daughters, Marianne Materasso and her husband Louis, Susan Miller and her husband Robert, and Carol Esposito, sister Alice Dematte; five grandchildren, Mishelle Ciliberti and her husband Ron, Chris Materasso, Stacey Signorile and her husband Lorenzo, Rob Miller and his wife Tracy, and Laurie Sherman and her husband Chris, along with 11 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be at from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Yorktown Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian burial is set for 11:15 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with entombment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
