YORKTOWN, N.Y. A Brooklyn teenager who allegedly tried to use counterfeit money to purchase groceries in the Triangle Shopping Center A&P is facing felony charges, police said.
Yorktown police arrested and charged 19-year-old Shaniqua T. Frazier on Jan. 18 after they received a call from A&P at around 9:45 p.m. reporting a patron in possession of counterfeit money. Police reports said Frazier attempted to purchase groceries with a counterfeit $100 bill.
Frazier was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. She was remanded to Westchester County Jail on $10,000 bail. She is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown Court on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m.
