Thomas Jakubek, 52, Lifelong Yonkers Resident, Worked For D.P.W.

YONKERS, N.Y. - Thomas Jakubek, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Saturday, Oct. 19. He was 52.

Jakubek was born Sept. 16, 1961, to Edward, Jr. and Olga Kachmar Jakubek in Yonkers where he was raised and attended local schools including Gorton High School. He was employed by the Department of Public Works in Yonkers for 15 years. Previously, he was employed by the N.Y. State Department of Transportation for 12 years. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.

Jakubek is survived by his wife, Amber of Yonkers; parents, Edward, Jr. and Olga Jakubek of Yonkers; daughters, Christina and Melanie Jakubek both of Yonkers; and brother, William Jakubek of Virginia Beach, Va. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Jakubek, III.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Sacred Heart Church. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale.
