Sophie Rodzen, 92, Lifelong Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. - Sophie Rodzen, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Saturday, Oct. 12. She was 92.

Rodzen was born April 16, 1921, to Michael and Martha Nowak Rodzen. She was educated in St. Casimir's School and remained a lifelong parishioner of St. Casimir's Church. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. She worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. for 34 years and Westchester County Social Services and the Health Department for 11 years.

Rodzen is survived by her sister, Thomas (Mary) McCormack of Yonkers. She was predeceased by her brother, Stanley Rodzen.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at St. Casimir's Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
