John M. O’Rourke, 65, Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. -- John M. O'Rourke, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died April 1. He was 65.

O’Rourke was born Dec. 13, 1948, in Brooklyn, he was the son of William and Agnes O'Rourke.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and for many years he was a custodian supervisor for the Yonkers Board of Education, retiring a few years ago.

O’Rourke is survived by his wife, Cyndi (Vitaliani) O'Rourke; children, Stacey, Amy, Molly, and John-John O'Rourke; and a grandchild.

Calling hours are Thursday, April 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, April 4 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flower Funeral Home, 714 Yonkers Ave.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at Sacred Heart Monastery Church. Burial will be at the Rose Hills Memorial Park, in Putnam Valley, N.Y.
