Yonkers Animal Shelter Seeks Shoe Donations To Benefit Animals

YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Yonkers Animal Shelter is asking the public for donations of used shoes, sneakers and boots to help benefit finding animals new homes.

The shelter has found a company that is willing to pay them by the pound for these items, and the money will be used to help spay, neuter and train the animals for their future adopting homes.

The old shoes will be donated to charities in need of them. Shoe donations are being collected until Sept. 20 and may be brought to the shelter.
