Report: Hearing For Yonkers Player Accused Of Shoving Ref Postponed

YONKERS, N.Y. -- The hearing for a Yonkers High School varsity boys soccer player who reportedly shoved a referee was postponed Thursday morning until next week, according to a report from The Journal News. 

"The reason for the postponement was so that Section 1 officials could make sure that a lawyer is present for the hearing," according to the Journal News report, citing a source close to the situation.

Chris Cruz is being accused of pushing referee Pat Godfrey in the chest after receiving a red card in a Sept. 17 game agains Scarsdale B, according to the Journal News.

"The Yonkers athletic department is disputing the allegations," according to the report.
