44-Year-Old Woman Killed In Cross County Crash ID'd

YONKERS, N.Y. -- The 44-year-old passenger killed in a one-car crash on the Cross County Parkway early Monday has been identified as Elouise Spears of Morrison Avenue in the Bronx.

The driver, a 38-year-old Mount Vernon man, is still in the Intensive Care Unit at Westchester Medical Center. He has not been identified.

Westchester County Police said they anticipate charging the driver with DWI. Other charges are possible, police said.

The accident occurred about 1:30 a.m. on Monday near the Seminary Avenue overpass in Yonkers, police said. The car slammed into a wall under the overpass

The crash resulted in the closure of eastbound lanes on the parkway for several hours between Midland Avenue and Interstate 87, police said.
