The Westchester County native from Port Chester leaves behind three sons — ages 13, 11, and 6 — and a husband of 17 years, Raney Nelson Jr. She was known for her fierce love of her family, her openness to anyone in need, and her compassion, according to her obituary.

"From her earliest days, she was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and generous spirit for those she cherished," the obituary said.

A GoFundMe to help her family has raised more than $6,515, more than $1,500 more than its original goal with donations continuing to pour in.

The campaign said she'll be remembered for his "beautiful smile and contagious laughter."

Those that knew Jos will never forget her beautiful smile and contagious laughter. She adored her family and always had an open door for others in the area. A Trumbull mom, Jhoseline committed her life to creating a safe and loving environment for her 3 boys to flourish in. All while being the "better half" of a strong marriage that only added to the warmth of the Nelson household.

A visitation is set for 2 until 5 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation at 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford. A prayer service will follow at the funeral home.
