Man Killed In Chicopee Convenience Store Armed Robbery ID'd: Police A man who attempted to rob a Hampden County convenience store and later died of his wounds has been identified as a 53-year-old South Hadley man, authorities said. Robert Papalardo died Thursday night, April 18, after paramedics rushed him to Baystate Medical Center following the shooting in Chicopee just before 6:30 p.m., the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said. $100K Lottery Ticket Sold In East Longmeadow It was a very lucky day for one Bay Stater on Thursday, April 18, when they bought a lottery ticket that scored them a $100,000 payday. The winner collected the grand prize for the "Quick $100s" lottery game. It's a tidy sum for a $2 scratch-off ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at Emporium Newstand at 444 N Main St. The store will get a bonus for the sale. Victim Dies From Wounds In Chicopee Convenience Store Shooting A person who was shot on Thursday, April 18, at a Hampden County convenience store has died, authorities said. The shooting happened in Chicopee around 5:30 p.m. at Zain’s Smoke Shop & Convenience on Montgomery Street. Paramedics rushed the victim to an area hospital, where they died later that night, Chicopee Police said. Police have released few details about the shooting or the victim. Ford Recalls Over 450K Of Some Of Its Most Popular Models Over Safety Concerns Ford announced that it would recall over 450,000 Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick vehicles because of an issue with the battery that can cause the drive train to lose power and increase the likelihood of wrecks. A Swampscott woman hired to stop tax cheats is now accused of being one herself, police said.
