Man, 67, Busted For Felony DWI Following Single-Vehicle Crash In Westchester
A 67-year-old man was arrested by state police for felony DWI following a single-vehicle crash in Westchester.
Patrick R. Bridgewater, of the Bronx, was arrested around 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, in New Rochelle, said Trooper Tara McCormick.
According to McCormick, the state police responded to a one-car property damage accident on I-95 in the city of New Rochelle. Once on the scene, they found Bridgewater has lost control of his Jeep Cherokee on the southbound acceleration ramp and became disabled on top of the barrier between the ramps.

Duo, Including Westchester Man, Stole High-End Handbags In Fairfield County, Police Say
Police arrested two men in connection with the theft of more than $20,000 in high-end handbags from a Fairfield County merchant.
Members of the Greenwich Police Organized Retail Criminal Activity Unit chased three suspects on foot down Greenwich Avenue on Wednesday, Jan. 27, after they were observed steeling high-value handbags from a local merchant, said Lt. John Slusarz.
Two of the suspects were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and struggle. The third suspect got away with over $20,000 of merchandise, Slusarz said.

Bicyclist From Fairfield County Struck, Killed By Van In Westchester
A bicyclist from Fairfield County was struck and killed by a van in Northern Westchester.
The incident happened on Saturday, Aug. 22 just before 1 p.m. in Pound Ridge.
The 2014 Ford Econoline van, operated by Lorenzo Davis, 33, of the Bronx, was traveling south on Route 137 (High Ridge Road), when, for unknown reasons, struck a bicyclist also traveling south on High Ridge Road, state police said.
The bicycle operator, Thomas J. Schultz, 70, of New Canaan, was pronounced dead by a Pound Ridge Emergency Medical Technician after life-saving techniques were unsuccessful.

One Critically Injured In Chain-Reaction Seven-Vehicle Westchester Crash
One person was critically injured in a chain-reaction seven-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Northern Westchester.
It happened at about 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13 at Whitehall Corners, the intersection of Route 100 and Route 35 in Somers.
A preliminary investigation by state police revealed a box truck driven by Dondre Birch, 26, of the Bronx, was traveling west on Route 35 when it crossed the double yellow line and struck vehicle 2, driven by Ted Dimond, 54, of New York City.
Vehicle 2 then hit vehicle 3, with debris from vehicle 2 hitting vehicles 4 and 5, police said.

Thousands in Westchester remain without power nearly a week after Tropical Storm Isaias tore through the East Coast.
As of 9:40 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, Con Edison was still responding to 1,978 outages in Westchester, which are impacting 18,961 of its 360,045 customers in the county. NYSEG had an additional 38 customers in Westchester without power.
In Westchester, more than 1,000 outages were still being reported in New Rochelle (2,622), Yonkers (1,852), New Castle (1,779), New Castle (1,778), Greenburgh (1,315), and North Castle (1,180).
