These Westchester Beaches, Pools To Open: Here's When As the temperatures get warmer, Westchester residents will soon be able to cool off at several county-owned beaches and pools that will soon open. Beginning on Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27, Croton Point Beach in Croton-on-Hudson and Glen Island Beach in New Rochelle will open on a pre-season basis, Westchester County Parks announced.  Following this, both beaches will open on weekends and holidays only until Sunday, June 23. Issues Force Newly Renovated Sprain Ridge Pool To Close For Entire Summer Despite reopening with “great fanfare and optimism” last year, the recently renovated Sprain Ridge Poll will be closed for the entire summer season after it was deemed not to be structurally sound. Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced on Wednesday that in an attempt to reopen the pool in Yonkers before July 4 last year, contractors rushed work at the pool, which resulted in structural issues.
