Covid-19: Daily Deaths Set Record For Third Straight Day As Hospitalization Rates Fall Again For the third consecutive day, New York set a new daily record for the number of deaths due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as the statewide total topped 7,000. The grim news came at the same time hospitalization rates continued to fall, the rate of ICU patients dropped to a new low, and an apparent "flattening of the curve" continued.
