A city in Westchester is committing millions of dollars toward putting air conditioning in all of its school buildings to help students deal with rising temperatures. Date Scheduled For Reopening Of Westchester School Where Mold Was Found
Less than a month after being forced to close its doors when a mold outbreak was discovered, a Yonkers school may soon be reopening. Paideia School 15 may be reopening as soon as Monday, Oct. 22, with a new roof, following an expedited replacement project that took just weeks and cost the district approximately $3 million. Bronxville Voters Approve $24.8M Schools Bond With No Tax Impact
Although voter turnout was low, the Bronxville community overwhelmingly approved a near $25 million schools bond referendum that will help officials address needs at the building and in the district. Voters approved the $24.8 million bond referendum with an unofficial tally of 511 “yes” votes against 97 “no” votes, the district announced on Tuesday night, stating that they will begin addressing facility needs, infrastructure improvements and program-related enhancements. Rye Neck Voters Approve $27.6M Schools Bond Referendum
Voters in Rye Neck overwhelmingly approved the school district’s proposed $27.6 million capital improvement bond spending plan. With a vote of 733 to 153, voters approved Proposition One, which includes a $6.28 million plan that will replace antiquated roofs across the district’s three buildings. Proposition B, which passed 608 to 278, includes an expansion to the middle and high school that will add eight new classrooms.
