Ford Winter, Former Mamaroneck HS Swimming & Diving Coach, 85 Ford Winter was born on June 26, 1937 and passed away on November 18, 2022.  He taught physical education and coached swimming and diving in the Mamaroneck Public Schools. Ford was particularly successful with his coaching of MHS divers, developing them into champions.  In retirement from the Hommocks Middle School, Ford began to entertain on stage and in cabaret. Former HS Baseball Coach Who Led Team To State Championship Dies: From Westchester A former high school varsity baseball coach from Northern Westchester who led his team to a state championship is being remembered for his ability to connect with his players.  Amleto “Mel” Giarolo of Croton-on-Hudson died on Saturday, April 21 at the age of 88 after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and renal cancer, according to his obituary.  Born in Tarrytown in 1934, Giarolo spent his life following his passion for the game of baseball.
