15 'Psychologically Disturbed Children' Removed From Westchester Treatment Center
Fifteen children with severe psychological and behavioral issues have been removed from a Northern Westchester residential treatment center which has sparked controversy among town leaders for unsafe conditions. The children were removed from the JCAA Westchester Campus located in Pleasantville at 1075 Broadway, which serves as a treatment center for emotionally troubled young people, Mount Pleasant officials announced on Wednesday, Oct. 11. Westchester County Family Court Finds New Home In New Rochelle
One of Westchester's Family Courts will soon have a new home. The Westchester Board of Legislators voted unanimously on Monday, June 15 to approve a lease for the county’s Family Court on Garden Street in New Rochelle. The new location will be a 35,000-square-foot space on two floors of a building that is scheduled to be constructed at 26 Garden St., near the New Rochelle Transit Center in downtown. Chain Pharmacies Now Must Take Unused Drugs, Says Westchester Bill
Chain drug stores in Westchester County may soon face heavy fines if they fail to allow customers to drop-off unused medication if a bill recently proposed by lawmakers passes. The bill would require pharmacies with more than three locations in the county to accept unused medication, including the installation of signage denoting the locations as drop-off points and creation of a hotline and website to list sites where medication can be left.
