Traffic Alert Issued In White Plains As Metro-North Renovation Begins Motorists traveling in White Plains may see heavy traffic delays for several weeks on Route 119 as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority kicks off an extensive renovation of the local Metro-North station. Traffic Congestion Alert Issued For White Plains Area Heads Up!  Traffic congestion is projected to impact access to White Plains from Tarrytown Road, also known as Route 119 in Greenburgh. On Wednesday, April 4,  work was to begin on two bridges that carry Metro-North commuter trains over Main Street and Hamilton Avenue in White Plains.  Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney said,  "The MTA will be undertaking a major renovation of the White Plains Metro-North train station."
