Monthslong Lane Closures Scheduled On Saw Mill River Parkway
There will be lane closures and potential delays for motorists on the Saw Mill River Parkway for the next two months in Westchester. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that the right lane closures will be on the northbound parkway between exit 17 (Ashford Avenue) and exit 21 (Route 119). A New York State trooper was transported to Westchester Medical Center following a wild chase on I-87 that ended with the trooper's vehicle being rear-ended by an unmarked NYPD officer taking part in the chase. The event began around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, when the unidentified trooper attempted to pull over a suspect vehicle on I-87 in Woodbury in Orange County, said Trooper Tara L. A man with a prior DWI conviction is facing charges after he was allegedly caught driving at twice the legal limit in Westchester, police say. New York State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the village of Mamaroneck for a traffic violation on Monday, March 4 around 6:30 p.m. Further investigation revealed that the driver, 55-year-old Zoran Vukosavljevic of Bushkill, Pennsylvania, was allegedly intoxicated. Man Charged With DWI With BAC Three Times Legal Limit In Greenburgh
A 61-year-old man has been charged with DWI after allegedly driving with a BAC three times the legal limit in Westchester, police say. Officers say the man, later identified as Kevin Williams of Westtown in Orange County, allegedly approached New York State Police patrols during a traffic stop on I-87 in Greenwich to ask for directions on Friday, Feb. 22 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Police say they noticed signs of intoxication and placed Williams under arrest. A woman from Rockland is facing DWI charges after police say she was allegedly driving at twice the legal limit during an I-87 traffic stop. Sunday, Feb. 10 around 3 a.m., New York State Police responded to the Woodbury exit of I-87 on the report of a driver who did not have the funds needed to pay the thruway toll. The driver, 52-year-old Alicia E. Snyder of Sloatsburg, was determined to be intoxicated, police said. Snyder was arrested and transported to SP Newburgh. State Police say they stopped her vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Greenburgh for a vehicle and traffic violation on at around 9:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7. Starting Date Set For Harriman Toll Plaza Demolition
Demolition of the Harriman toll plaza on the New York State Thruway has a starting date, following the Thruway Authority’s transition to cashless tolls in the Hudson Valley. Beginning on Monday, Jan. 14, a Westchester contracting company will begin demolition in Harriman, as the state continues a $13.9 million plan to convert plazas in the region to cashless, all-electronic tolls.
