Edward Collins, of Holmes, a hamlet in the Town of Pawling, died around 7:30 a.m. Monday on Route 52, at Towners Road, after striking the pillar in front of Gino's Grab & Go Deli, said Kent Police Chief Alexander DiVernieri. A 2.2 magnitude earthquake was reported early Wednesday morning near the Northern Westchester/Putnam about 3 miles north, northwest of Mohegan Lake.
