A woman is facing charges after investigators reported that she placed a coin in a meat package that was set to go out for retail consumption in New York.
Long Island resident Karen Palacios Gutierrez, age 38, of Hempstead, was arrested at about 4:20 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, following an incident at the Ava Companies food packaging company, located in Hicksville at 383 West John St., the Nassau County Police Department reported.
Investigators determined that Gutierrez put a coin into a package while working as a meatpacker at about 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, police said.

Road Rage: Man Damages Mercedes-Benz During Incident In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A man is accused of causing damage to another vehicle during a road-rage incident in the Hudson Valley.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 in Rockland County on northbound I-87 in the town of Ramapo, according to state police.
Troopers located and stopped both vehicles.
The investigation at the scene determined that Davonne S. Wilmore, age 31, of the Bronx, threw a water bottle at a 2019 Mercedes-Benz truck, causing damage, said state police.
Wilmore was taken into custody, transported, and processed at the State Police barracks in Newburgh.

A wanted man from Westchester County is behind bars after leading officers on a foot chase that included a detour through a stranger’s home, according to police.
Marquise Roberson, age 33, of Peekskill, was arrested Sunday, May 15, after his wife’s grandmother called police in Rye and said he was banging on her front door, authorities said.
An arrest warrant had been issued after a previous domestic incident in which Roberson’s wife told investigators he had ripped her cell phone from her hand and smashed it on a sidewalk, Rye Police said.
