10 Sheep Killed In Barn Blaze In Hudson Valley A devastating barn fire in Dutchess County early Tuesday morning, Feb. 18 claimed the lives of 10 sheep, officials said. The blaze happened at 546 North Quaker Hill Rd. at around 5 a.m., according to Pawling Fire Marshal Everett White. Upon arrival, crews found the structure engulfed in flames.  Tragically, 10 sheep inside the barn died in the fire. Horses Rescued After Fire Breaks Out At Hudson Valley Barn Around a dozen horses had to be rescued from a barn that caught on fire in the Hudson Valley, fire officials announced. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Jan. 10 around 8:20 p.m., when the hay storage area inside a barn at the High Point Equestrian Center at 572 East Branch Rd. in Patterson caught on fire, according to the Putnam Lake Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews were able to quickly knock out a large portion of the blaze, but found completely extinguishing it difficult because of the heavily stacked hay storage inside the barn.
