WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Raina Kadavil, a White Plains High School senior, was recognized as the City of White Plains Youth of the Year 2014 on Monday, Nov. 3 during a Common Council meeting.
“Raina spends most of her free time helping others," said Mayor Thomas Roach, in presenting the award. "She has given 1,000 hours of community service in the past three years.” Kadavil’s accomplishments include work on projects both local and global. She is an extensive writer, contributing to the WPHS newspaper and literary magazine. She will soon publish a book titled “Voice of Thunder.”
