WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A judge in Staten Island has declined to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the state's teacher tenure laws, according to the New York State of Politics blog.
Two groups filed the suit, the NYC Parents Union and the Partnership for Educational Justice.
The suit argues that the state's tenure laws increase the likelihood that students will have access to ineffective teachers, hurting their ability to learn literacy and math, reported the New York State of Politics blog.
