The deadline to apply for college scholarships offered by owners of The Westchester mall in White Plains is nearing. The Westchester is once again proud to help deserving graduating high school seniors pay for college. The application deadline is Wednesday, March 1.
High school seniors throughout Westchester County are encouraged to apply
Simon Youth Foundation, a national nonprofit that provides educational opportunities for at-risk high school students, is now looking for qualified applicants who live near The Westchester and the surrounding community.
Each year, Simon Youth Community Scholarships are awarded in every community across the country that is home to Simon, Mills, or Premium Outlets malls.
Students can apply online by clicking here www.syf.org/scholarships.
SYF will award 25 scholarships to students graduating in the class of 2017.
Recipients will receive up to $1,500 to enroll in an accredited college, university, vocational or technical school.
In addition, an “Award of Excellence” will be given to the top candidate from among the scholarship applicants that represent the nationwide Premium Outlets locations. That student will receive a $10,000 award ($2,500 for up to four years).
In 2016, the Simon Youth Foundation awarded $1.2 million to 300 students nationwide.
