Store security told officers the suspect, 41, took two boxes of CKfree cologne, worth a total of $104, and ran out of the store Saturday night, police said. Security chased after him and stopped him near the corner of Main and Court streets, where police responded and arrested him.
Police officers said they saw a bulge in the suspect’s belt. They found the two boxes of cologne tucked into his pants, and then found a partially burnt glass smoking pipe with residue of what police believed to be cocaine, police said.
The suspect was charged with petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. He was held for court.
