Neira Dixon, 65, Budget Assistant, Of White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Neira Renita Smith Dixon of northern White Plains died July 12. She was 65. 

Dixon was born Feb. 13, 1947, in Charlotte Amaile, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands to Emanuel and Audrey Hamm Smith. She worked as a budget assistant for New York Telephone Co. for 25 years before retiring in 2000. 

A member of the New York Telephone Pioneers, Dixon served as steward for CWA Local 1105, secretary of the inter-office mixed bowling league and co-sponsor of Children International. 

Dixon is survived by her husband William J. Ho Jr., two daughters Rhonda Camille (Solomon) Marsh and Traci Renee Habersham, a son William Clayton (Sabrina) Habersham Jr., a sister Renee Smith of Flushing, N.Y., 11 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother James Smith and a granddaughter Sara James. 

Visiting hours are from were held Monday morning at Greater New Zion Church in White Plain. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery in New Rochelle. McMahon, Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
