Elizabeth Armstrong, 86, Longtime White Plains Resident

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Elizabeth "Lizzie" Armstrong, a longtime resident of White Plains, died Feb. 9. She was 86.

Armstrong was born July 11, 1927, in Frogmore, St. Helena's Island in South Carolina. She started a catering business with her sister, E. Carol McArthur, and worked as a cook at the Brass Racquet Club and Restaurant.

Armstrong is survived by her children, Kenia Armstrong, Beverly Christian, Karen Armstrong, Karla (Paul) Packer and Brian Armstrong; three grandchildren; and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Armstrong; sister, E. Carol McArthur; and niece, Sheila McArthur.

Calling hours are Friday, Feb. 14 from 12 to 1 p.m., followed by service at 1 p.m., all at Lee's Funeral Home. Burial at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla.
