WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Police said a dispute between two drivers escalated into a livery cab driver wielding a cricket bat while chasing after a New City driver.
White Plains officers arrived at the Metro-North station after receiving a report of a fight at the taxi stand around 12:15 p.m. Sunday.
The New City driver told police he approached Muhammad Raza, 31, of Brewster, and said Raza shouldn't be parked in the driveway of 10 Hamilton Ave.
Raza, a black livery cab driver, then got "very close" to the other driver. Police said Raza pointed his finger at the other man and began cursing.
Police reports indicate he threatened the New City driver by saying, "I swear on my mother, I will kill you."
Raza then ran back to his car, pulled what the New City driver thought was a machete out of the trunk, and chased after the driver for approximately 300 feet, according to police.
The pursuit stopped when the two man ran into MTA police officers and Raza returned the object to his car.
When White Plains officers asked Raza if he had anything in his trunk, officers say he said "yes" and revealed a cricket bat stashed in his trunk.
Raza was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

- A ShopRite employee was arrested after loss prevention staff said she stole food and money from the supermarket.
ShopRite staff called police and reported that they saw Leah Gainey, 24, of Yonkers, take $40 out of a cash register while monitoring video surveillance Sunday afternoon.
Officers say Gainey admitted to stealing $100 in cash and $150 in food while working at ShopRite.
She was arrested and charged with one count of petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
- A Briarcliff man was arrested in a parking lot early Sunday morning after police said they asked him if a Bud Light can was his and he responded by taking a sip from it.
As officers were arresting Kevin Theiss, 22, they said they found a bag of what appeared to be cocaine in his pants pockets.
Theiss was charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and one count of possession of an open container of alcohol in public.
