TROVE @ The Movies - "Puss in Boots": 2 p.m. This Dreamworks animated adventure stars the voice of Antonio Banderas as Puss and involves a cast of characters right out of popular nursery rhymes and fairytales. Westchester Putnam College Conference: 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. The Westchester Putnam College Conference provides the ideal opportunity to gather all of the college information your high school student will need. Fabulosity - Getting Ready for the Prom: 4:30 p.m. Jay Santiago from La Bottega will talk to teens about ways you can make yourself look great for your big event. City Budget Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The city council will meet to review the library, recreation and parks and the youth bureau. City Hall, 225 Main St.

Tuesday, May 1

School Budget Presentation to WPNCA: 7:30 p.m. Superintendent of Schools Christopher Clouet will present the proposed school budget adopted by the board April 16. The meeting is open to the public. Residents are asked to come early to get a good seat and allow time for audience participation and networking. Education House, 5 Homeside Lane.

Wednesday, May 2

White Plains Farmers Market: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The market on Court Street, between Martine Avenue and Main Street, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays through Nov. 21. Court Street.

Salute to Seniors: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The Department of Senior Programs and Services of Westchester County Parks, Public Works and Transportation and the Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services will host the 44th annual Salute to Seniors, a Business and Services Expo featuring booths representing commercial businesses such as financial service companies, nonprofit organizations and agencies, hospitals and other health-care providers and assisted-living facilities. Poetry Slam and Open Mic: 6:30 p.m. The White Plains Library's Open Mic, SLAM competition continues with guest poet Roger Bonair-Agard, a two-time National Poetry Slam Champion and co-founder of The louderARTS Project. Those interested should bring two original poems of up to three minutes each. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Video Production Classes for Teens: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. If you are a teen in grades nine through 12 with an interest in acting in or creating a video, the library is sponsoring a video production class that will create a public service announcement. Thursday, May 3

Illustrator/ Author Night: 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The Post Road Elementary School will hold this bi-annual event. Books will be on sale from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and kids can get them signed from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Post Road Elementary School, 175 West Post Road.

White Plains Historical Society Annual Dinner: 6 p.m. The annual dinner meeting will honor Dennis J. Power, director of program development in the Westchester County Department of Environmental Facilities, as citizen extraordinaire. Author Joseph Cummins will also speak about his book, “Anything for a Vote: Dirty Tricks, Cheap Shots and October Surprises.” The Woman’s Club of White Plains, at the C.V.
