Tarrytown Police Reports: Lost Pet Found

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A good dog isn't hard to find.

A man called Tarrytown police to report that he had lost his dog when it got out of his car at the Shell Gas Station on South Broadway around 10 p.m. on April 8. The man realized his dog was not in his car only after he had crossed the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The man's dog was found the next hour further north on Broadway. Police later reunited the man and his dog.

Police also reported the following:

Mulch Fire: The mulch beds around Tarrytown Village Hall began smoking around 2 p.m. on April 9. Firefighters extinguished the smoke and soaked all the other mulch surrounding the building.

Brush Fire: Firefighters extinguished a small brush fire on White Plains Road near the Tallyrand Crescent around noon on April 9.

Bicyclist Struck: An elderly woman was struck while riding a bike at the intersection of South Broadway and Main Street around 2 p.m. on April 8. The woman refused medical treatment at the scene.

Fire: A clothes dryer caught fire and was extinguished around 11 a.m. on Martling Avenue on April 8.

Burglar Alarm: A burglar alarm at a South Broadway office went off around 10 p.m. on April 6. Police checked the location and found a door was open, but nothing was out of order.

Coyote Sighting: Greenburgh police reported seeing a coyote near the intersection of White Plains Road and Carrollwood Drive around 2 p.m. on April 6.

Tappan Zee Bridge Accident: Three cars got into an accident on the Tappan Zee Bridge center span around 4:30 p.m. on April 5.
