WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Police stopped an Elmsford man, 42, driving on West Post Road and Rathbun Avenue April 20, whose license had been suspended eight times and had an active warrant for his arrest, according to a police report.
After driving through a safety checkpoint at 6:20 p.m., police pulled the driver over because his windshield was cracked in the shape of a spider web, which the report said was obstructing his view. A check on his license revealed it had been suspended four times for failure to answer a summons, possession of drugs, sale of drugs and failure to pay child support.
The North Lawn Avenue resident was taken to headquarters, where police discovered the driver also had an active warrant with the Orange County Sheriff's office for a family offense. Police released him to the Orange County sheriff's custody.
He is set to return to White Plains on the local charges May 9.
