Judith Douglas: Chair of White Plains Kids X-Press

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Judith Douglas was named chair of the board of directors for Kids X-Press, a White Plains-based nonprofit that aims to promote literacy with its quarterly magazine. Douglas, who works as the Director of RSVP at the United Way's Volunteer Center in Tarrytown, joined the board in 2010. She served as the board of director's secretary, joined the events committee, and helped with fundraising efforts.

Outgoing chair Robert Miss said Douglas "was one of the best chairs" that could be found.

"Judy Douglas brings to this board position a rare combination of talent, experience and leadership qualities -- this hasn't happened by accident," said Miss, according to a Kids X-Press press release.

Kids X-Press magazine publishes children's writing, photography, and art. It has an annual distribution of about 140,000.
