Freeze Warning Issued For White Plains Early Wednesday

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Temperatures will dive into the low 30's on Tuesday night and, as a result, some parts of Westchester County could see the rain turn to ice and possibly even snow, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning from about White Plains to points northward in Westchester County from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The warning also extends southward to towns along the Hudson River to Hastings-On-Hudson.

According to the alert, sensitive plants could be damaged or killed by the sudden freezing temperatures. Covering sensitive planted flowers or bringing potted plants inside overnight is recommended.

The northernmost towns in the county could even see the heavy rain turn to snow, but little or no accumulation is expected.

Up to an inch of rain is expected to fall throughout the county with localized amounts topping an inch, especially in coastal Westchester towns.
