WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Kenneth White, the 5-year-old boy who was the subject of a New York Amber Alert after reportedly being abducted from his home near Albany on Thursday has been found dead.
Police agencies throughout the state were put on alert after the boy went missing.
The boy was found near the trailer where he lived with an aunt in Berne, N.Y., where police labeled initial reports he was abducted by two men a hoax and apprehended the aunt's daughter, Tiffany VanAlstyne, and charged her with murder.
Authorities said White was not in custody of his biological parents, but they both have been accounted for since the abduction.
The state Amber Alert was issued at 2 p.m. Thursday.
