WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. A familiar face has been promoted to dean of students and faculty at the Music Conservatory of Westchester (MCW), the nonprofit community music school announced Monday. Previously, Dr. Sarah Wetherbee was the school's assistant dean of students and faculty.
The White Plains-based school also announced the appointment of Dr. Justin Stanley to Wetherbees old position and Mack Cunningham to chief operating officer.
Sarah has the vision, expertise and experience to guide our programs forward, said Jean Newton, the conservatory's executive director. I am confident that our students and faculty will thrive under her leadership.
Wetherbee, a Sleepy Hollow resident who has performed in many ensembles in the United States and Europe, also teaches violin at MCW, which she joined in 2008. Previously, she worked at the Levine School of Music, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop DC, Gettysburg College and Frederick Community College.
Stanley, a clarinetist, has taught clarinet and chamber music since coming to MCW in 2009. He also teaches at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., and at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Orchestra Hall in Chicago.
Cunningham, of Rye, has served four years as director of administration and finance for MCW. Before that he worked on Wall Street as a director of hybrid markets at Kellogg Group LLC.
