Welcome to White Plains, a City With Everything

White Plains is more than a city of malls, tall buildings, government offices and corporate parks. To the approximately 57,000 residents who call it home, White Plains is a community of neighborhoods, each different and special. From the Highlands and Soundview sections to Battle Hill, named for a Revolutionary War battle, White Plains is a unique place with a long history and bright future.

What White Plains doesn’t have is waterfront, but from atop one of the soaring skyscrapers that have redefined downtown you can see the Hudson River to the west, the New York City skyline to the south, the rolling hills of northern Westchester and the Long Island Sound to the east.

People who live in White Plains are proud of the diversity of its citizens, the quality of the public school system and how the community combines the virtues of a city with the suburban landscapes long associated with Westchester County as a whole.

The appeal of White Plains is far-reaching, its shopping and restaurants legendary. In fact, retired Yankee pitcher Andy Pettitte would always lunch at Graziella’s, an Italian restaurant on South Broadway, on the days he pitched home games.
