Man Dies After Shooting Near Westchester Deli

Authorities are searching for whoever was involved in a shooting near a Westchester market and deli that left a man dead.

The shooting happened near 22 West Lincoln Ave. in Mount Vernon, police said.

The shooting happened on Wednesday, Oct. 23 just before 10:30 p.m. near the Taiz Market & deli in Mount Vernon at 22 West Lincoln Ave., according to Mount Vernon city officials.

Responding officers found two men with gunshot wounds. One had been shot in his left forearm and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment. 

The second victim was shot in his left underarm and had life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Mount Vernon Hospital, where he later died, officials said. 

The victim's identity has not yet been released. 

The Mount Vernon Police Department is now searching for suspects involved in the shooting. the investigation is ongoing.
